Primer GEN15002 and GEN15009 were chosen whereby it produced reproducible and typeable results in L. monocytogenes (19) and L. innocua (38) isolates examined with the bands sizes ranging from 0.25 to 3.0 kilobase pairs. From the current study, it can be concluded that the RAPD profiles revealed a wide variability and high level of DNA sequence diversity within Listeria species strains tested. RAPD showed a very discriminatory power since several RAPD profiles were obtained among L. monocytogenes and L. innocua isolates and even slight difference between isolates can be detected. ER -
