Although few reports demonstrate the occurrence of foodborne listeriosis after consumption of seafood products the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in such food items has been world-wide reported. Additionally, L. monocytogenes has been often detected in fishery plants confirming this pathogen as a major concern of the seafood industry. In this manuscript we review basic knowledges about the relation between L. monocytogenes and seafood products. ER -
