Three research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. They were tested at point 0.05 level of significance. The sample size for the study was 59 respondents. The instrument for the study was a 43 item questionnaire titled Counselling Environment and Guidance Practice Effectiveness (CEGPA). The instrument has face and content validity. The reliability coefficient fir the instrument 0.70. Regression statistical tool was used to analyse the data. The findings show that the three components of counseling environment significantly relate and predict guidance effectiveness. Also there was no significant difference in guidance effectiveness based on gender and location. Recommendations were made based on gender. ER -
