In the control seedlings, the epidermis cell number, stomata number and index were higher in the lower surfaces of leaves in comparison with their upper surfaces. In addition, the stomata width and length in the leaves of control plants were fewer in the lower than in the upper surface. As for the applyings, they generally decreased the stomata number and index in varying degrees in both surfaces, while they partly increased the stomata width and length especially, in the lower surface according to control. Moreover, most of the treatments slightly increased the epidermis cell number in the upper surface, but did not show a meaningful effect, statistically, on this parameter in the lower one. ER -
