Hotels need to strive harder to unshackle the talents of their employees in order to accomplish peak performance. Recent efforts have highlighted the importance of research engagement which focuses on human strengths and optimal functioning. Despite its potential functional outcomes, research on the prevalence and antecedents of research engagement remains scarce. Therefore, the objective of this study is to create a model linking personal resources (organizational-based self-esteem and self-monitoring) as predictors of research engagement among customer-contact employees within the Malaysian hotel industry. In addition, co-worker support has been proposed as a moderator in the earliear mentioned relationship. A review of the literature to support the suggested model is provided.} }
